Over years, though I have liked some of his movies, and also applauded his performances but as a Hero or an Actor, I had my favorites well defined and SRKnever made it toanywhere near that list. My arguments varied from him being only a favorite for Girls, to him only doing big banner movies, and what not. I used to celebrate my success when his movies wont work, a small yesss in front of my sister, who in turn made me aware of all the Akshay movies that failed. Mom used to scold us for arguing over useless things and hushed off the hotting-up debates.
But my sister has now grown up and so have I, so we dont fight over our favorite heroes anymore. But even though Akshay Kumar still remains my favorite hero, my opinion about SRK has lately taken a U-turn. He still might be more popular with the audience of the opposite gender, and he might still do big banner films, and he still might be doing some funny advertisements but there is something I have started to like about him after viewing his few interviews of late. This something is his being professionally correct all the time.
This professional correctness, I believe is a secret behind whatever success he has had. The very clear lines that he has drawn between his personal, social and professional life is something most celebrities fail to do, at least in Bollywood. In years that I have followed SRK, there have been very few wrong noises about him. While some people in the Industry claim to do films with a social message, and some others say they want to do the kind of films people love to see them in. Here is a man who says he does films that he wants to do, and as per his logic he cannot do a film that will be liked by 3.6 billion people (if I remember the figure right) who identify him around the world, cheers to his take on this.
